We had THREE WINNERS on the Wake County level of the National PTA 'Reflections' program!!!  Madeline Hren  (sixth grade) came in first place in literature in this prestigious competition, Maria Tsikerdanos (sixth grade) received an honorable mention in literature, and Naya Coard (seventh grade) garnered first place in the category of dance/choreography.   Way to go!!!!  These awards are not easy to come by.

Madeline Hren then went on to win first place in the regional competition, which is amazing in itself, and was therefore elegible to compete again on the state level against 6th 7th and 8th graders from all over North Carolina.  We are so proud as this sixth grader ended up winning second place for the entire state of North Carolina in literature.  Congratulations!  Really amazing.   WOW!!!!  And.... for students looking to get a head start for next year's competition, rumour has it that the theme will be just that: "Wow!"    This seems pretty wide open as a topic header!  You might want to start thinking about it and have fun over the summer creating something really unique to submit in one of the following categories:  Literature, Visual Art, Dance/Choreography, Music, or Film/Video.  You'll hear more about this contest opportunity in the fall, but if you're looking for the actual rules and regulations on the contest, you can access them any time by going to the state PTA website. http://www.ncpta.org/  Good luck!
